Tech Trends: UK 2020, Issue 2 – Summary
The UK saw a big rise in tech media coverage (35%+) driven by COVID-19 tech adoption. This contrasts sharply with Hong Kong, which saw a drop of more than 13%, likely due to column inches being sucked up with news of protests. Singapore meanwhile remained largely stagnant with tech coverage rising by just 2% during the same period.
IoT and Machine Learning saw falls in the UK. Globally, falling trends include Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology. In comparison, Hong Kong’s tech media coverage experienced big drops in Robotics, Virtual Reality, Cybersecurity, IoT and Data Protection. Virtual Reality and Cybersecurity had falls in Singapore.
